Conclusion

Both pieces shares few key features.
    
 The performance technique is very similar in that it bends the note and stretch the rhythms of melodic lines. In Mondestrunken, the Soprano has a very melismatic lines, where Duanqiao has a characteristic of typical Chinese Opera music, slurs and extensions of notes.


     Repeating motif is evidently presented in both pieces. In the piece Mondestrunken, the 7 note motif consisting of notes G# 
(G# E C D Db F G)is repeated in the piece. In Duanqiao, the motif is repeated.





Both pieces have conversational-like vocal lines developed by different intonations, and changes of rhythm and metre.
